Ap1

Site:
Provenance:
Alluvial soil, linked to the potential raw material sample originating from the Kasakh River sediments.
Clay:
A non-calcareous clay with weak optical orientation. The silty component (<3%) includes quartz, opaque minerals, tuff, plagioclase, biotite, and rare weathered calcareous particles.
Temper:
The non-plastic assemblage (<10%) contains tuff, dacite, plagioclase, and some weathered calcareous grains. Two sub-rounded grains of volcanic glass were observed.
Characteristic Inclusions:
Tuff
Dacite
Plagioclase
Calcareous rock (weathered)
Mixed Clay:
No
Mixed Temper:
No
Clay and Temper Treatment:
The non-plastic component was probably levigated to isolate the silty component, since raw material samples contain more than 10% silt.
